Located on a high desert plateau between two large mountain ranges, Mountain Home AFB is home to the 366th Fighter Wing (366 FW) of the Air Combat Command (ACC).

Mountain Home is situated about 50 miles southeast of Boise, and the historic limestone walls of the State capitol.

The base's primary mission is to provide combat airpower and combat support capabilities to respond to and sustain worldwide contingency operations.
